Visual Soundings

I have been focusing on visual art… and listening to the colors of my whims and needs, not really knowing which is which, but catering to them each as I can. And as I cannot upload a file at this time, the time is not released from its previous commitment and your eyes will have to fallow on along without harvesting my wears of light…

I am inspired by various energies within my creative output, and tend to forget that I have multiple directions in which to aim my intentions. I think I will intend to try once more to upload some random art, but from a different file. Write about it as I read the weigh…Checking It Out Q1

Ha. Fooled you… it’s the original file I tried to upload, but I had to sign out and then sign back in to get WordPress to accept it. Color the balance squared up.

Stay focused while I go to bed…

Stand My Ground

From the kitchen window I saw the bold intrusion

Of arrogant ne’er-do-well misfits and vagabonds,

Claiming the authority of planted location,

Holding forthright intentions to move in and stay.

A violation, a sharp insult, a thrown gauntlet

Catching my composed sensibilities off guard,

But not out of sudden emotional reach,

As indignant pride and defensive action responded

To prompt an immediate retaliatory engagement.

So I gathered up initiative like a change of clothes,

Girdling my loins in old jeans, tight but functional

Against the anticipated aspects of battle,

Gathered various weapons, sharp, hard and deadly,

Then set forth toward the state of confrontation

Found in any defense of territorial rights.

Walking right up, matching silence with silence,

I eyed their sharpened blades so casually displayed

And hoped my own armored gauntlets

Could handle their efficacious nature,

Knowing that push would come to pull,

In the anticipated hand over hand combat.

Without further ado, hoping for the best, I attacked

Like a mad man venting his anger in defense

Of hearth, home and countryside,

Fighting for the claim of proprietary domain.

I swung the leverage of my irresistible blade,

Decapitating and toppling foe after sturdy foe,

Letting the armed and dangerous bodies pile

Where I cast them down, like Philistines

Well met of my jawboned determination.

On and on, into the wooded depths I chased

These rooted usurpers and villainous cads,

Throwing them away from their offensive stand

Against my just and righteous cause,

Giving battle in the thick sweat of the day

Taking my own flesh wounds in steady stride;

Fighting each encamped foe to the source,

Digging out their strongholds upon the earth,

Offering no quarter, yielding no ground,

Maintaining my course into dominant victory,

And then standing tall in panted view.

My enemies were done and vanquished,

Their remains piled upon the field of victory

To wait for the yard men to pick them up

Like the thorny weeds that they were.

I Met A Girl!

I met a girl… wow, I met a girl!

With eyes and lips

and silky hair,

A real live girl, with grace and charm!

A wonder well beyond compare!

I met a girl,,, A girl! A Girl!

And everything has changed!

My life is sudden upside down

And somehow rearranged!

I met a girl, my head’s aspin,

My heart

just jumps for joy,

How do I act, what do I say?

My mind cries, “Boy, oh boy!”

I met a girl, oh such a thing,

But real

as real can be;

I met a girl who lives and breathes,

And gave her smile to me!

I met a girl, a lovely girl,

She took and held my hand,

And rockets

thundered

in my chest!

I just do not understand!

I met a girl

…and she met me!

How lucky can a fella get?

She spoke to me and said my name,

And I’m glad …‘cause I’d forget!

And I spoke to her as well!

I talked to a real live girl!

My stuttered mind gave mumble voice,

My jumbled thoughts a whirl!

What to say … to a real girl?

No dream, but really real?

That she’s sun-shiny warm and sweet,

And lovely in all appeal?

Egads! The Truth! How dare??

My fear of what to say:

Frantic flailed blandishments!

Scarce I frighten her away!

But somehow, after all the stress

And as far as I could tell…

I really think she liked me, too!

Oh boy! Oh boy! That’s swell!

I met a girl, …wow: a lovely girl.

A real dream come true.

The sky is not the limit any more…

…Oh my goodness! Now what do I do?!!

Stand Up And Sing!

Stand Up And Sing!

Life Changes

022615 Life changes.

There are so many changes in my life in the past year that it would be difficult to relate and explain them all. I will thus only say that things are calming down and the flow of my life is easing toward less tumultuous energies and more positive aspects.

I haven’t written for quite some time, and I would love to catch up with transcribing my pertinent creative inspirations, but it is a school (work) night and I am tired. One of the changes I will mention is that my eyesight has diminished to such a degree that I may miss typos and errors in what I transcribe, and for this I apologize. I had a detached retina ion my right (dominant) eye last July and the after effects have resulted in the need for glasses… and yet the glasses do not return my vision to what I would like. Life changes.

I am still waiting for my book Record to be printed. It was published (different than printing) three years ago, yet through a series of miscommunications, misunderstandings and decisions to further edit, it has not been printed. All the issues have (hopefully) been resolved, and it should be back on track to have a proof copy sent to me so that I can make sure it is okay to offer to the general public (that’s you). Create Space is the printer, the publishing/printing arm of Amazon, and there have been several changes in the way they do business, which were not communicated to me. I’m not overly impressed, but they are the best of the lot (of print on demand books) and I am resigned to their methods. The book, as are all my books, is published by Undine Press, a small private publisher. My next book, Writing In The Sand, is also published and awaiting printing, I am not holding my breath for either one of these (I am presuming they won’t stink) but hope to hear something positive soon, so that I can announce that each is available on Amazon, or through me, and so further my literary career (if I may be so bold as to refer to it as that) and move on to the next books (but wait… there’s more!) that I have almost ready to go. Life changes.

My girlfriend (life changes) and I have invented a board game. It is a puzzle that involves the construction of paths, and has several levels of aspect and actualization. We’ve shown it to a business adviser who advised us (they were’t slacking off) to speak with lawyers about trademarks, copyrights, patents, branding and non-disclosure agreements (don’t tell anyone I told you), and offered information about a lawyers group that helps artists. So we are pursuing that with hopes that we have a viable creation. Soon to be in a blog near you. Life changes.

My car died and I had to invest in another… so now I will have car payments for the first time in ten years. Life changes.

I’m living with my Uncle in the house he inherited from his parents, my grandparents, as I lost my house of 23 years to foreclosure. Don’t you just love what banks, soulless investors, the government and other powerful entities have allowed to happen to our society? Life changes.

As I said, it is late, I am tired, and I must get up to go to work in the morning. I had to shovel snow from the driveway and sidewalk last night, and then again this morning. Tomorrow morning promises more of the same. Life changes.

I will try to maintain a more viable presence herewith in the weeks to come. Life changes.

Oh, my girlfriend and I are going to take dancing lessons at Arthur Murray. Life changes…

Endless Shifting Sand 1: In the Wind

I am going to post excerpts from my book, ‘Endless Shifting Sand’ … thinking that, perhaps, someone else might enjoy the offbeat humor in the surrealistic flow of smoothly chaotic imagery. Different. Wildly different. I do hope you give it a whirl… you might enjoy it! Thank you.

I put forth the entire Table of Contents as introductory opening to what ESS is.. I am only sharing this to indicate that I will be posting the rest of book, in bits and pieces, on another blog of mine. Read the Table of Contents and maybe find your way there…

 Cheers!

(Pardon the quirky alignment. The draft does not match up with the actual posting and this creates some interesting configurations of order)

And so, again, I am washing over your eyes, sifting the written word across the perceptions of your awareness. I offer you my other blog, on Blogger. I wanted you to read the first part of the book, as an introduction to the wit and style offered further within. If  you are now so inclined,:

Code Read

I thought you were speaking about a code readily stuffing your news and stopping the consonant comments spoken through your cold red nose. I sniffed in dig nation coolness, playing the role of the dice the action channeled as it served up unsuspected waves to roll me tumbled down, but not out, into my situational straights. It was a cool splash, back in the day. (Imagination surfed the webs and gathered the dust of errant dreams.) Looking up, I felt somewhat akin to an all wet wash of walls in my (soon to be) asylum and held the breath of my wide open container to be more than a simple taste of fresh heir, for it includes the residue change of history’s toll, ringing in my respiratory options like a box and pouring from the circumferent wrap like breathing underwater. More oxygen? I set my sight to seat my resident self sound and safe above the silent noise of pollution, aimed for productive battle against the offending substants, looked into what armamentalities I might consider, girdled my intentions with weapons of mess destruction and stepped boldly forth into an inept attempt to alter the intended application of tools and materials, clumsy awkward. It seemed that the available technologies were less than satisfactory (factory guaranteed) compared to the grunt and swipe of a brush from a bucket, so I trading them for the basics and gave strong armed efforts to sponging off the offending environment in a two foot wide swath, up and down, repeated until the surrounding wall surface was balanced in a molecularly measured increase of proposed living space, cleaner for the tasking. Cheers.
My day carried on and brought me here, to hear your tired eyes read red right along with my wearied hands. Hold that thought, but gently, and let this somnambulist night walk the path into its own dream. Carry yawn, my wayward sun.
